Photo Shoot

I had the best Saturday last weekend. And now I get to share the results with you! I met Erin at a craft show last December. She is an aspiring photographer and we got to talking. Fashion photography is one thing she she did not yet have but wanted to add to her portfolio. Light bulb moment. A couple months later the snow went away and we lit that bulb.

Thanks to some fabulously beautiful friends of hers - you guys rocked it! - we had a successful day. Made even better by Erin's fantastic ad making.

I am not sure which is my fave because I love them all. But these two give a great example:

Pop on over to her site to check out more of the shoot. And don't pass up browsing through her other portfolios. She has some amazing music and portrait images.

Picture Change Up

I spent some time last week playing around with my pictures. I have tried in the past to make my backgrounds black & white on GIMP but never got the hang of it. Then last week or so Handmadeology had a quick run through on doing this very thing with Picnik. So easy. I love it.

Now my backgrounds don't look so busy.

I don't mind the cork background, but changing it up with the rest makes for a more uniform look in the shop.

...Or dingy...as in my couch, which is yellow anyway & does not make for a nice backdrop.

...Or just odd when there is too much behind my items and not enough of the stuff to look like an actual something.

I still want to do a total re-shoot of everything (at least for the main item pic).
I get a little wishy washy on the black and white. Sometimes it works better than others.
What do you think?

Why photos are hard to take...

Hi Mom!

This is what happens when I try to get stuff done when my youngest is around. He was laying on the floor & popped up right when I was snapping the pic. Changed the focus & everything.

No wonder I have nearly 15 bags ready to list & yet can't. Heck, while writing this he has pulled me away 4 times!.

If only school lasted longer than 3 hours *sigh*
