not the best pic, but since it is on my back/shoulder blade - I can't exactly take it myself :)

What to do...Toss or Hide

Okay, so I wouldn't really toss out all my WIPs (yes, I am still struggling with them), but I could destash or giveaway the pieces. Or I can just hide them for a later date.

How do you handle the to-dos? I can't be the only crafter who gets a bit of a backlog. I had cut out lots of bags, mostly from leftovers or fabrics I wasn't so sure what to do with at the time. And timeline? Some of this stuff has been at the bottom of the pile for, um...months (some even a year). So what to do...

I have been trying to figure out why it is so hard to just let it go. It may be that whole "Quitter" thing. I don't want to be one. Hubby says not to think of it as quitting since the biggest reason they got to the bottom of the pile in the first place is because I had actual orders. I guess he's right. Yup - got that documented!

I really do need to do this. If you read my post about the things I want to do for 2010, you'll understand. I have a long list of 'want-to-makes' and don't want to delay those.

I'm going to do it...today. Find a box & store them for a rainy day. Or a day where I decide to destash them :P And then start cutting out fabric baskets & backpacks & a table runner. Woo Hoo?

I have been playing around with favicons and signatures for my posts. Thanks to Jen from Designed by Jen! She has some easy to follow tutorials that I have been having great luck with. It's even got me playing with my Paint Net and Gimp more too :)

Holiday Orders

First I would like to start with some feedback I got from the pink ballet backpack. It always makes me feel so good to hear such a positive response from something I made. So I had to share :

"Amazing seller. I had a custom order (ballet bag), and she walked me through the entire process, asking the right questions along the way. If you don't know your canvas from your duck cloth, worry not. She is very understanding and was willing to work with my needs, despite my deficiency in the knowledge of craft materials!"

She even sent me a pic of the bag with her shoes in them...which I was so worried would not fit:

I can't remember whether or not I mentioned The 6 Pack. It was an order from a family member (thanks sis!) for a matching set of bags for her sis-in-laws & their daughters. With this one I had to design the bag first...I had 2 styles, a tab top and a zipper top. She went with the zipper top. Which is a good thing since the tab top needed some reworking.

These were the results:

I really like this design and plan to make more. But unlike these, the lining will NOT be canvas. I lost count of the broken needles littering my work area. The shorter, more structured, handles are fun too. I am not sure if you can tell by the pics on Sis's couch, but they stand up on their own.

Now to get my rear in gear and start sewing again. I think I was sewn out last month...I haven't touched my machine in over 2 weeks! I think that's the longest I've gone without in the past 2 years!

Whedonverse Ornaments

Last year I took part in Buffyfest's Whedonverse Ornament Swap. I had so much fun, I had to do it again this year. And now that Xmas has come & gone...I get to show off the goodies I made :)

This is my batch that I sent out....hand painted on canvas in a felt & fluff filled ornament...with snowflake brads....topped off with a stake to hold the loops:

Here are some of the goodies I received (some did not photo well, so no pics)

And the Whedonverse section of my tree:

...compare to last year's section...

Deal of the Day...All Month

I was going to do a sale throughout the entire shop this month, but decided to go with a Deal of the Day instead...every day. Granted, some may be longer than a day depending on how busy...or lazy...I get. Maybe at the end of the month I'll do an all over sale.

I thought it'd be a fun way to start 2010. So first up are my larger purses..."The Rachelles"...50% off...in both my Etsy and Artfire shops, of course.

I will post each new Deal over to the right on my sidebar....be sure to come by & check them out...or just drop into either shop :)
